The Ballet of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb will be holding auditions for male and female ballet dancers with strong classical ballet technique who would join our ensemble from September 2023.
The auditions will be held on March 25 and 26, 2023 at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.
In order to apply for the audition, send an e-mail by March 12, 2023, to: ballet.auditions@hnk.hr
Your application must contain your portrait, two full body photos in ballet poses, CV and, if available, a link to a video clip (Youtube, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
In your email, please write which audition date you would prefer (Saturday March 25 or Sunday, March 26) although we cannot give any guarantees.
The candidates who apply for the audition must be over 18.
Only those candidates who will pass the preselection process can attend the auditions on March 25 and 26, 2023.
Selected candidates will receive an email with the exact date and time of the audition.
The selection process of the candidates has three stages:
1) Preselection: candidate screening - photos, CV and video (open to all)
2) Ballet class (only for those who have passed the preselection and have received confirmation via e-mail)
3) Learning and performing choreographic excerpts (for those who have passed the second stage).
In certain cases, the candidate might be asked to dance a classical or contemporary ballet variation of his/her own choice, so it is necessary to bring music on a CD or flash drive. Music played via a cell phone is unacceptable.
The candidate must be suitably dressed for the ballet audition (leotard and tights for women and if necessary, a short skirt; ballet tights and fitting T-shirt for men). Women must bring their pointe and soft shoes.
