Lyon national Opera is a home of excellence, for creation, production and training in the lyrical, choreographical and musical fields. As one of the most important Opera houses in France and Europe, it benefits from the Ministry of Culture’s label “National Opera house” since January 1996. Lyon national Opera has access to permanent artistic forces: orchestra, choir, ballet and youth training program.
Lyon national Opera Ballet is composed of 30 dancers who, from the experience provided by the diversity of the artistic collaborations offered by the repertory, are working on many diverse choreographical languages.
Today, Lyon Opera Ballet is hoping to meet a new performer (W/M), of any age, with a confirmed contemporary technique, trained in ballet fundamentals and endowed with a high aptitude for improvisation.
This person will perform the works of invited choreographers such as Gisèle Vienne, Marlène Monteiro Freitas, William Forsythe, Marcos Morau. His/her commitment will allow the dancer to participate in transmission and teaching projects organized by the Ballet, as well as with the collaborations it develops with the Lyrical department or Opera Underground, the experiments implemented with today’s authors, movie makers and artists. This person should have the desire to enhance the history of a company with renewed ambitions on stage as well as in the city, to meet new audiences.
